Introducing the Wiki - (TecHKnow)
Category: Main

  • Before you begin there are a few things to do.
  1. Take a look around the wiki to familiarise yourself with the layout of the place and how we do things.
  2. Learn how to create or edit an article by reading the Help:Editing pages.
  3. Practice what you have learn't in our Sandbox area. Don't worry about making mistakes - we all do this!
  4. If you have any problems then visit our Forums area were experienced wiki colleagues will be pleased to advise or help you.
  5. When you are ready to begin, think of a suitable topic area that you are familiar with and write about it!!
  • How do I start or create an article?

This is really easy! The best way to create your article is to simply use the search facility on the left hand pane and enter the subject title of your article. Keep it short and simple. If the article does not exist then you will be invited to create the article yourself. Once you have done this you quite literally start of with a blank page....and away you go!

Always keep in mind these important and helpful links.

  1. More information about how to edit a page on this Wiki
  2. Still unsure of what to do? Maybe we can answer some of your questions?
  3. I am a total new to all of this. I need more help!
  • Did you know that you have your own user page area here on TecHKnow Wiki?

It is a page about a wiki user; someone who registered on the wiki, and is (most probably) a contributor. User pages are just as flexible as any other wiki page, and it's a page all about you, so generally we will leave you to freely write your user page in whatever format you like. Think of it as a 'profile' page. It's a feature to help other people know who you are, and to bring the free online community closer together. You might like to mention where you are from and what your job is. You can also state what your main areas of interest are in relation to the topic of the wiki, and describe contributions you have made or are areas where you are interested in contributing. Its your choice.
