Question Gear wheel required

1 month 4 weeks ago #41808 by AndyG
Anyone have one of the older Lascells Energy System units (LA 30-010) that's broken or surplus to requirements?

Mine had a split motor pinion gear which a nice man at Lascells replaced for free (old stock, last one on the shelf).
I've just sorted it out only to find that the identical small output pinion gear has split too!

If anyone knows whether these are an off-the-shelf part for RC models or whatever it may be useful (Tamiya or Como etc). It's the ten tooth spur gear, about 4.5mm bore, 12mm overall diameter with about 2mm tooth height.

Bad form replying to my own post but may be useful to others. I found that the 10-tooth gear I required was no longer produced but I came across the company Railwayscenics.com.
If you are of that ilk and build things that requires gears and odd bits and pieces at reasonable prices it's one of those sites to trawl :-)
For reference, their 10-tooth 4mm bore gears will mate directly with those used on the Lascells unit and can be bored out to fit the 5mm hubs on that unit (they also press fit on the 4mm shaft but I wasn't sure of the amount of torque they could take).
