Personally I think the front page should be different once you have signed up to the Wiki. Having the same instructions on how to sign-up to the wiki, create a Username, etc is confusing/ unnecessary. --Robin Copeland (talk) 13:13, 17 October 2012 (BST)
The TecHKnow Wiki is built upon the exact same platform and code as Wikipedia. The function that you describe is not available in Wikipedia, and therefore not available in TecHKnow Wiki. The role of the front page of the Wiki is to introduce people to the Wiki environment, help them understand the environment and provide easy accessible help in setting up an article within the environment.
The front page has changed several times since we started back in 2005, however, in every transition, this has been the central feature or purpose of the front page.
As a matter of interest, when somebody logs into TecHKnow wiki, what page would you direct them to?

Heya Seamus, I think what would be good is for registered users to go to a front page that had things such as: a listing of the Topics/ Catagories type thing. Perhaps a news section (hyperlinks to organisations news from such as: the BBC; ASE; CLEAPSS; TechKnow) that kind of thing. But certainly not the exact same pages that are asking you to do what you have already done when you registered. But I am very concious this is my personal 'thing' --Robin Copeland (talk) 15:43, 17 October 2012 (BST)
